Nationally recognized composer and director Kath Wissinger founded Mosaic Handbell Ensemble in the fall of 2010 with the purpose of giving dedicated advanced ringers an opportunity to hone their skills, to share their music in many different venues and to encourage others to improve their own ringing skills. Ringer numbers range from 4 to 11 ringers - requiring us to cover many more than the usual number of bells per person. Mosaic performs a wide range of well-crafted sacred and secular repertoire using 3 to 5 octaves of handbells and up to 5 octaves of handchimes.
Mission
Mosaic's mission is to promote the joy of handbells in performance, education and community outreach programs.
Rehearsals & Performances
Rehearsals are 2 hours weekly. We currently practice at Massanutten Presbyterian Church, just east of Harrisonburg, VA. We usually perform four full concerts per semester plus a number of smaller outreach concerts. Contact info@mosaicbells.org to arrange a performance.
Join Our Group
If you are a confident, flexible advanced ringer, we invite you to inquire about ringing with Mosaic. Ringer applicants are accepted in mid-August and early-Jan. of each year. Ringing subs are also welcome to apply. info@mosaicbells.org
Keep our bells ringing!
Monetary gifts help Mosaic purchase sets of music scores, new instruments and equipment. Donors can also underwrite workshops or concerts, allowing us to reach more people. Additionally, you can support us by participating in our educational outreach workshops or by attending our community outreach concerts. Donations may incur some tax advantages.
Mosaic Handbell Ensemble is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
