Founding Artistic Director, Kath Wissinger, has her fingers in about every part of the Handbell Pie: director, composer, ringer, publisher, clinician, educator. She started ringing in high school, directed youth/teen bell groups in church for almost 30 years, taught handbells in the classroom for 18 years, has directed an adult church group for 8 years and Mosaic since its inception in 2010 - all while writing music for her groups' immediate needs. Kath has directed and taught at events across the country and in Canada and Japan. Being of a scientific bent, she helped fine-tune the beta models of 3D printed digital handbells and often mentors new directors, ensemble ringers, Bell Tree players and start-up events. She makes world famous Bread and Butter Pickles, cans all her own spaghetti sauce and enjoys reading a wide variety of books.
Joanne, one of the founding members of Mosaic, has been ringing for about 15 years. She is an RN by day, handbell ringer by night. Joanne lives in Earlysville, VA. She has three almost grown kids and enjoys quilting, embroidery, pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
Aimee never heard handbells play until she was in her late 20s, but jumped at the chance to begin ringing in 1999 when her church ordered a three-octave set. She played for nearly 10 years but changed from playing bells to teaching chimes to schoolchildren when personnel changes caused the church group to dissolve. She is thrilled to get back to playing with Mosaic and will be so happy if she can master four-in-hand but also bell tree.
